Abstract:
The reduction of nitrogen oxides (NO
x) emission is of vital importance for the control of PM
2.5 and O
3 complex air pollution in China. Therefore, the control status and emission reduction strategy of NO
x from key industries in China were reviewed and perspected in this paper. The non-electric industrial furnace and diesel engine exhaust are the main sources of NOx emissions. The NOx from industrial fumes mainly originate from steel, construction material and metallurgy industries. The NOx from diesel engine exhaust mainly originate from diesel vehicle, non-road moving machinery and marine engine. The reduction strategy of NOx primarily included technical and policy measures. Technical measures included clean combustion, such as low-nitrogen combustion, exhasust gas recirculation and clean fuel substitution; and after treatment purification, such as ozone oxidation absorption, selective non-catalytic reduction and selective catalytic reduction. Policy measures included improving NOx emission standards, reinforcing intelligent monitoring and supervision, and developing new energy technologies. In future, it is urgent need to develop synergetic emission reduction technologies of atmospheric pollutants and greenhouse gases under the “carbon peak and neutrality” targets.
