Abstract:
Risk-based control strategies for contaminated site have been widely recognized and applied, while uncertainties in the risk assessment process have attracted increasing attention. Uncertainties in scenario construction, model characterization and parameter selection in the exposure assessment process are important factors that affect risk assessment results. To address this issue, European and American countries have developed and applied Tiered Risk Assessment. In recent years, high-tiered risk assessment has been emphasized and applied. Presently, China has started to study and apply this method in some large special contaminated sites based on experience. This research systematically combs the development of tiered risk assessment of contaminated site at home and abroad, describes the research contents in the construction of exposure scenarios of environmental behavior of pollutants, the optimization of exposure model characterization and local adjustment of parameters, and discusses the development direction of the hierarchical risk assessment method. Combining the policy requirements and development status of contaminated site risk assessment in China, this paper proposes the application of tiered and refined risk assessment in risk management of contaminated site.
