Abstract:
Accurately defining the concept and connotation of ecological products is the prerequisite and basis for in-depth theoretical research and practical innovation. This study critically analyzes the problems in the original concept. We follow the strategic intention of our country to put forward realizing the ecological product value. The ecosystem product is defined as a terminal product or service provided to the human society for use and consumption by the combined effect of ecosystem biological production and human society production on the basis of specifying the producer. This includes a guarantee of the living environment, maintenance of ecological security, provision of material and spiritual cultural services, and other human welfare or benefits. Ecosystem product is a daily necessity that meets the requirements of human beings for a better life alongside agricultural products and industrial products. It can be divided into three categories: public ecosystem products, quasi-public ecosystem products, and business ecosystem products. In addition, it reveals the inherent relations and boundaries between ecosystem products and ecosystem services, natural resources and economic products, and illustrates that ecosystem products not only represent the supply and consumption nexus between the natural ecosystem and humans, but also reflect a similar relationship between people. This paper suggests that researchers in natural and social sciences should put medium- and long-term joint efforts to solve the key scientific and technological problems in the process of realizing the value of ecosystem products, and seize the academic commanding heights of international ecological economics research through theoretical breakthroughs and technological innovations.
