Abstract: Using eight-stage impact collector, we collected aerosol sample of five representative points in Guangzhou City, and analysed them using the method of Proton induced X-Ray emission (PIXE). Firstly, we got the mass density and the particle diameter distribution of about 20 kinds of element. Secondly, we got the element aboundant factor of coarse and fine particles respectively;then gave some suppositions of element source and discussed the speciality of Guangzhou aerosol. At last, we discussed and compared the results of analysis of the content of 15 kinds of element of the aeresol in Guangzhou City center with those of other cities in our country.
