Abstract: The characteristics of acid rain pollution in the east suburb of Guangzhou are studied on the basis of rainfall records from 1982 to 1987. The results show that the rainfall has been heavily contaminated in the east suburb of Guangzhou. The acidity of rain water increases. The concentration of anions and cations in the rain wster are highest by SO₄^2- and NH₄⁺ In each weather system,the acid rain frequency is different..
