Abstract: Using the insolation sequences data obtained in Amman, Jordan, the regressive coefficients of autoregressive model and Markov transition matrix were calculated. The two methods were used to simulate the insolation sequences. Through comparison of the simulations by the two methods, it was found that the Markov transition matrix approach is better than the autoregressive method when used to simulate solar radiation process.
