Abstract: On the basis of designing the standard matter element matrix and extensional matter element matrix of atmospheric environmental monitoring, optimal number of sites of atmospheric environmental monitoring was studied through the definition of correlation function of matter element analysis. Results of application to examples show that it is a simple and practical method to optimize the atmospheric environmental monitoring sites by matter element analysis.
