Abstract: A model for the comprehensive environmental quality evaluation has been constructed through using a three layer forward radial basis function artificial neural network (RBF ANN),and a least squares estimation algorithm for RBF ANN, i.e. RBF LS algorithm, has also been developed. The resultsrelated to the environmental quality evaluation for a certain city show that the model and its algorithm are reasonable, effective and in common use.
