Abstract: As a new GIS thchnique,dynamic segmentation can be effectively applied to perform one-dimensional river water quality dispersion simulation and spatial display and analysis.The basic idea of dynamic segmentation database design was described,and the functional design of exact one-dimensional river water quality dispersion model as well as the structural flow chart of the overall simulation system was given.
