Abstract: An investigation on the selection of covering materials for eco-engineering restoration was carried out at Hudao municipal waste landfill site of Qingdao city. Selecting criteria of covering materials for restoration of municipal waste landfill sites are the cost and the benefits, as well as the restoratiion desing options and the landfill site. Decomposed rubbish and sand were recommended respectively as covering materials for the design options in which low cost or high benefits are mainly considered.
