Abstract: The wastewater from Chinese yam saponin production in pharmaceutical industry is of high acidic organic and with plenty of carbohydrates produced in the process of amylum hydrolysis.A process combining acidolysis with alcohol production technology was utilized to extract alcohol from saponin wastewater,having achieved good environmental and economical benefits.
