Abstract: The properties of zero-valent iron and the treatment mechanism of the wastewater with it were introduced. The application of the wastewater containing heavy metal, dye, polychlorinated hydrocarbons and hardly biodegradable organics with zero-valent iron was summarized, and the characteristic as well as the prospect of the technology was discussed.
