Abstract:
In order to control pollution and improve atmospheric quality, it is necessary to make sources apportionment of atmospheric particles. On the basis of analyses to the data of element contents in atmospheric samples and to the source profiles of atmospheric particulates in Chengdu City, the weight contribution rates of sources of atmospheric particulates were calculated with the help of projection pursuit regression (PPR) technique. Results show that the contribution rates of coal burning and soil dusts that are the main dust sources of atmospheric particulates in Chengdu surpassed 40% respectively. It coincides with the practical cases of sources of atmospheric pollution in Chengdu.
