Abstract: The article briefly described the current SO₂ pollution status in Ma'anshan city,predicted the SO₂ emission amount in the planned years and put forward the pollution control targets.To aim at the problems of the SO₂ emission and control for the key pollution sources of main industries in the city,such as metallurgy and power,a series of countermeasures and key treatment projects were raised.By the year 2000,2005 and 2010,the SO₂ control target can reach 5.268×10⁴ t,5005×10⁴ t and 4608×10⁴ t respectively,and the SO2 concentration of the urban air can meet Grade Ⅱ of the state environmental quality standard.
