Abstract: Based on sufficient research and combined with the city's overall development plan and the long-range objectives of social and economic development,near-,medium-,and long-term sulfur dioxide emission and control amounts were forecasted.The relationship between total emission amount of sulfur dioxide and the ambient air quality determined,and integrated prevention and control planning proposed for improving air quality in the urban areas,so as to lay sound basis for the sulfur dioxide and acid rain control objectives set by the State Council.The sulfur dioxide prevention and control planning has been approved for enforcement by the city government.
