Abstract: Using highway tunnel experiment method in investigation of air pollution from traffic sources,the author carried out measurement of gaseous pollutants and particulate matter in highway tunnels in southern and northern parts of China respectively.The measurement was synchronized at multi-sites.Gaseous pollutants were CO,SO₂,NO_x,VOCs and etc.Particulate matters include TSP,PM₁₀,PM_2.5 and size distribution.Meanwhile,vehicle flow rate in the highway tunnel,visibility and meteorological factors were also monitored.Based upon the above results, pollution from traffic sources and its effect on environment could be studied comprehensively.
