Abstract: By studying impermeability and anti-shear performance of the sludge from wastewater treatment plant with different water content (sludge a with 80 percent and sludge b with 45 percent), this article excludes the possibility of using sludge b as landfill final cover material but presents a proposition of utilizing sludge a.We determined the metal contents of sludge and found none is beyond the national standard“Control Standards for Pollutants in Sludge from Agricultural Use”(GB 4284-84),meaning that it is feasible to plant vegetation on it and thus to prevent mud erosion.
