Abstract: The authors review the status for researching the imposex of gastropoda female snails,introduce the process of the imposex,and explain the collection method for gastropoda animals and the analysis method of organotin content in biological samples in general use.By the terms of Relative Penis Size Index(RPSI) and Vas Deferens Sequence Index(VDSI),the authors explain morphological change of the gastropoda snails induced by imposex.The authors also introduce the methods for collecting and analyzing the animal samples.In particular they explain the mechanisms of imposex related to aromatase inhibition hypothesis and testosterone-sulfate conjugates inhibition hypothesis.At the last they put forward some proposals for studying imposex.
