Abstract: The Yangtze River delta is the biggest economic center in China.With the quickening of urbanization and enhancement of industrialization,a majority of rivers in this area were being polluted ever increasingly.Based on environmental monitoring data on the water quality of the rivers in the Yangtze River delta over past years,and combined with the experimental data and the filed investigation,the status quo of river pollution was briefly analyzed,and spatial distribution characteristics and temporal diversification trends revealed. The results can provide scientific basis for comprehensiwe control of river pollrtion and sustainable development in the area.
