Abstract:
Because geomembrane is an electrical insulator,leaks on geomembrane liners can be detected when geomembrane liners are inspected insuring intact construction and when wastes have been stacked on them in the landfill.The authors studied effects on detection results caused by leak sizes,locations of dipoles,electrode spaces of dipoles,electrode locations of power supply circuit and waste resistance.It was showed that if there are many leaks,they can be detected successfully only when electrode spaces of dipoles are less than the distance between two leaks.
