Abstract: The important position of groundwater resources in the construction of small towns and the relationship between groundwater resources and the strategy of sustainable development were briefly discussed.It was pointed out that the "Construction of Ecotype Town" should be regarded as central idea of future development of Shuangcheng Town.Some experience of Shuangcheng Town in exploitation and utilization of groundwater resources was also introduced
