Abstract:
The authors studied the method of accelerated solvent extraction(ASE)for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans((PCDD/Fs))in soils, especially the conditions related to extraction efficiency such as extraction times. The results showed that the extraction efficiency of various isomers of PCDD/Fs in the soils was related to the extraction times. It took only 1 h to reach the extraction rate of over 99%(3 extraction times). The method was compared with classical soxhlet extraction in the cross check among international dioxins laboratories. It was shown that ASE was speedier, more automated and simpler in experimental steps, with less solvent required.
