Abstract: The effect of Xiangjiang River micro-polluted water treatment by different media biofilters is experimented.The results show that biofiltration has favorable character on turbidity removal,and removal of turbidity is the result of combined action of conventional adsorption and biological adsorption.Biofiltration can effectively remove organic matter,ammonium,iron and manganese,and enhance biological stability of drinking water.The granule active carbon(GAC)-sand media is superior to sand media and anthracite-sand media,and the backwashing water with residual chlorine will do harm to the operation of the biofiltration.
