Abstract: Aiming at various problems existing in the management of municipal solid waste(MSW) in regional small cities,a technical method process was initially established which is suitable for the optimum management of MSW in regional small cities.The process consisted of six components,i.e. data investigation,prediction of production and components of MSW,identification of transfer stations,screening of disposal techniques,model calculation and decision making.By this process,regional optimization,time sequential optimization and technical optimization could be achieved for MSW management.The method was applied in Foshan City of Guangdong Province with good effectiveness.It could thus provide references for solving MSW problems in regional small cities in China.
