Abstract: Abandoned land is a land type that causes great destruction to ecological environment and leads to waste of land resource. It is a very sticky problem about how to carry on the rational transformation to form the sustainable and utilizable land mode. Through the transformation project of Shili Ecological Garden of Beizhan District of Xinxiang City, the transformation of abandoned land to useful land is investigated, and the landscape and ecological recovery of the district is studied. Through the analyses of the current situation of the abandoned land, the necessity of rational landscape and ecological restoration of the abandoned land is put forward. According to the theories, methods and principles of landscape design and ecological recovery, concreted measures for landscape and ecological recovery are proposed, which can satisfy the request of sustainable development of natural ecology, landscape, and economic and social development.
