Abstract:
According to statistical analysis on the production of PVC resin both in the total and in the part produced by acetylene technique from 1990 to 2002 as well as the estimation of mercury consumption, the mercury consumption from 2004 to 2014 was predicted. The two plans of reducing mercury consumption, i.e. reducing k factor and R ratio, were put forward. It was shown that if k factor was reduced from 0.20 kg/t to 0.12 kg/t, mercury consumption would accordingly decline by 40%; if reducing R ratio, for example, R ratio was decreased by 10% or 5% per year, after 8~14 years, no mercury consumption would come true in PVC resin industry in China. Finally, four suggestions were offered.
