Abstract:
Vegetation landscape types of Qinling Mountains (Mts.) are rich and have characteristics of transition and complexity, and the vertical belts are evident too. Applying the gradient analysis method based on the horizontal spatial patterns of vegetation and GIS platform, the effects of altitudinal gradient on vegetations of Qinling Mts. were analyzed, and the results of patches'sum, distribution range, mean value and standard deviation of different vegetation types calculated. Exemplified with the plant species of Taibai Mts., the gradient analysis method was conducted. The results of gradient analysis of Taibai Mts. are asfollows: with the increase of the elevation, the vegetation types change in theorder of temperate grassland→temperate deciduous scrub→temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest→subtropical coniferous forest→subtropical and tropical mountain coniferous forest→meadow→high-cold meadow, and the corresponding plant species change with the elevation too.
