Abstract: Remedial action is a critical procedure in the contaminated site management. China, as a heavily polluted developing country, is only at its preliminary stage in contaminated site cleanup program. The knowledge of classification, application status, selection process and progress of remediation technology abroad are essential for China to develop contaminated site management and cleanup action. Various methods for remedial action classification were offered comprehensively, and technology application status, trend, and selection in Superfund remedial action discussed in detail. Suggestions for contaminated site cleanup in China wereproposed based on the observation of quarter-century history of technology selection evolvement in Superfund Program.
