Abstract:
Based on comparative study of the management of contaminated sites within China and overseas, two typical chrome residue contaminated sites were selected according to a specific methodology. The results showed that in the two polluted sites, soil and groundwater had been polluted by chrome (Ⅵ).In the chrome residue pile areas, the concentration of total Cr exceeded the background value by severalto tens of times, and Cr
6+ concentration exceeded Ⅴ grade groundwater quality standard a thousand times. The polluted soil was easily enlarged because ofCr
6+ transportation and diffusion. The amount of chrome polluted soil at one contaminated site was about 19.5×10
4 m
3,and the depth of chrome (Ⅵ) polluted soil was about 4 m.The pollution characteristics were analyzed at two chrome residue contaminated sites, and the objective and major tasks of an integrated remediation plan at national chrome residue contaminated sites were proposed.
