Abstract:
Based on the Tingjiang River basin characteristics and the water environmental safety situation, a safety evaluation indicators system on the water environment was constructed from these aspects including the development and utilization of water resources, the emissions of water pollutant, the ecological environment situation and the status of environment quality. The water environment safety of the Tingjiang River basin area with more than 500km
2trunk stream and main branches was evaluated by adopting the methods of entire-array-polygon synthesis illustration. The results showed that in 2006, the decrease order of the water environment safety of the Tingjiang River basin was:the Tingjiang trunk stream > the Taoxi River > the Zhongshang River > the Qutian River > the Jiuxian River > the Huangtan River > the Lu Brook > the Jinfeng Brook > the Yongding River > the Changting River. Among the above water systems, the water environment safety situation of the Changting River, the most upper reaches, was the most severe. The comprehensive indexes on the water environmental safety of the Lu Brook and the Jinfeng Brook which separate into the Hanjiang River in Guangdong Province as well as the Huangtan River and the Yongding River were low, and this serious situation will be a great threat to the water environment safety of the lower reaches.
