The ecological conservation redline is a national "lifeline" and an important measure to implement the control of ecological space use. At present, China has basically completed the delineation of ecological conservation redline, and strictly observing it has become the focus of current ecological protection work. How to scientifically evaluate the protection effectiveness of the ecological conservation redline and serve the supervision of the ecological conservation redline will become one of the hot issues of universal concern. The research area of this study is Shenzhen, China (excluding Shenzhen Shantou Special Cooperation Zone). According to the national regulatory requirements of "no reduction in area, no change in nature and no reduction in function" of the ecological conservation redline, considering the factors such as strict supervision and management and locality, we constructed an evaluation index system for the management effectiveness of the ecological conservation redline in the terrestrial area of Shenzhen. Using remote sensing analysis, ground survey, spatial operation and statistical analysis to obtain data, we carried out an evaluation of protection effectiveness of the ecological conservation redline in the terrestrial area of Shenzhen, and analyzed the improvement of protection effectiveness and application ways. The results showed that the protection effectiveness index of the ecological conservation redline in the terrestrial area of Shenzhen was 81.16, which was in a moderately improved state. It shows that through the delineation and supervision of ecological conservation redline, indicating that through the delimitation and supervision of the ecological conservation redline, Shenzhen's important land ecological space was effectively protected. The indicators limiting the effectiveness of conservation are the area affected by human activities, number and conservation rate of key biological species, and the establishment and implementation of the ecological conservation redline. In the future, to improve the effectiveness of ecological conservation redline protection in urbanized areas, consideration should be given to expanding the area of ecological conservation redline, controlling human activities and linear ranges, actively repairing shorelines, protecting important organisms, and effectively implementing the ecological conservation redline system. Through the assessment, the ecological function status and dynamic changes of the ecological conservation redline can be grasped and understood in time, the ecological risks can be warned, and the management and decision-making level of the ecological conservation redline can be improved. The results of effectiveness evaluation can provide a basis for ecological protection and restoration, optimal layout of red line, law enforcement supervision, ecological compensation. It can also be included in the assessment of ecological civilization construction and urge all regions to consciously promote the construction of ecological civilization.
